Business ethics; is that this an oxymoron like jumbo shrimp or military intelligence? These days it's tough to tell. With all of the uproar in the govt these days regarding states being bankrupt and labor unions needing bail outs, people have started to wonder where the ethics went in business.
A person who had been a trusted advisor for hundreds of individuals for several years has gone to jail as a result of his entire business was engineered on an elaborate Ponzi theme that, in the tip, defrauded these individuals of their money. Who made money; the person who is now in prison. That's positively not ethical. Will it appear to trouble the man in prison? Not abundant; he still talks regarding the gullibility of the folks that he tricked.
The Columbia Encyclopedia defines business ethics as: "the study and evaluation of call making by businesses in step with ethical ideas and judgments."
I assume this subject remains taught at Columbia College of Business therefore why does not anyone appear to learn it?
